Quartet "Martenitza" performs three and four voised author's processed people’s songs for chamber folklore ensembles. The quartet performs the songs of well known Bulgarian composers Fillip Kutev, Stoyana Gagova, Petar Liondev, and also songs from North-East Bulgaria processed by composers Naiden Naidenov, Atanas Iliev,Radoslav Danov,Stian Paraskevov.

On the third of March  2001 the quartet had his first public occurance: in honor of Bulgarian National Holiday the quartet took part in a charity concert for the people of third age from the house for old people “Gergana” in Varna. This was followed by several concerts on the scenes of community center “Otetz Paisii”, Plenary Hole in the Varna municipality, in front of townspeople of quarter ‘Galata”.
On the tenth of May,  2002  the quartet participated in the Staroplaniski  festival "Balkanfolk” in Veliko Tarnovo  Except charters here they won the special prize  "Opening of a festival " and " Recommendation for media transmission”.

The Quartet "Martenitza" and Frends  

    The first media appearance of the quartet was in the folk program  “Sabotna trapeza” on a radio station in Varna. In the rubric “New records in Radio Varna collection” the quartet was presented by the Stoian Gigov’s song “Tchuriashka e rod rodila”
    On the tenth of March, 2002  a TV program "Vartiajka"
on Canal 8 dedicateä an hour to the quartet "Martenitza". A telephone communication with the admirers of the quartet was carried out and a film with a small part of his repertoire was shown.
